New version 4.1 of Taxi professional submitted

Following the hint of a taxi driver from the north of Italy lamenting a freeze of the app possibly following to a location error, I updated the app to return it to the login page instead of remaining in the splash screen in these events. Moreover the status image on the bottom left has been turned into a button that, upon being clicked, returns the map to the taxi position and lastly the new more efficient drawing methods from the other app in the suite have been also introduced into Taxi Professional.

Share & Spare 2.0 released

And also the free version of the suite Share & Spare has received the upgrades already inserted in the major versions. This is the quite extensive change-log, that should be quite familiar to the users of the other apps:

Total revamping of the iPad experience.
Improved localizations for the notifications.
Upon clicking the accessory button of the teleport table is now possible to center the map on the relative location, while touching the cell allows to name and describe it.
The current or teleport location is reported on the screen for ease of reference.
The in app teleport portals may now be shared with other users (iOS7.0+ only).
Even users without the Teleport add-on may see and use portals from other users (iOS7.0+ only).
The taxi annotation reflects again the status of its availability.
Upon sharing a path or completing a taxi ride is possible to share the event on Facebook and Twitter. In the latter case it is also possible to save the taxi among the favorites and/or rate the app.
personal portal locations may now be moved by dragging the relative annotations.
The actual location of the user is reported even while the app is in background.
New teasing notifications when reaching or leaving a location.
The portal locations may be moved by dragging their annotations to other places.
Favorites are now stored between sessions.
The owner of a sharing path may start it at any moment by triggering notifications to all partners and having the starting annotation pulse.
The location of the user is uploaded even while the app is in background to offer location based notifications and services.
Bug fixes.

The new 1.4 version of Share & Spare has been approved and release by Apple today. As anticipated this release introduces many of the new features gradually entered the main apps including the new Apple routes, the better communication with the taxi drivers and the support for the new Apple architectures. Share & Spare is catching up

After some time even the minor version of the suite Share & Spare has receive its seasonal lift. Actually perhaps more than that as also the free app has eschewed the google support for the routes, with the exception of the sharing ones, and adapted to 64 bits. This is the quite conspicuous changelog:
  • Upon booking a taxi, is now possible to inform the driver beforehand about the expected destination and to share the path with other users to look for company.
  • The route to the destination of a taxi ride is now drawn on the user's map upon boarding the taxi to keep her posted on possible departures from the planned route and be thereafter able to ask the driver for clarifications.
  • The paths are now calculated by means of the new Apple turn-by-turn library instead of the past third party one for a better resilience and efficiency.
  • Full iOS 7.1 support.
  • 64 bits support.

The 7.3 release of the In Arrivo HD app

I would like to inform the users of the main In Arrivo HD app that the long coveted 7.3 version of the app has been released and it’s now available for the free update by its user and for the direct purchase by new appreciators. As long said, the new version eschew the Google support for the calculation of paths, by taking advantage of the new turn-by-turn Apple library and uses the new support for providing two new interesting features:
  • The walking path to the closest stop for a searched bus
  • The taxi route that should be threaded by the taxi to reach the intended destination
Moreover it overcomes two “freezing” points:
  • The app no longer freezes while loading a high number of waiting times
  • The stops in the cache no longer stack in the center of the screen when starting the app

All of this leads to a much relaxed experience and we are happy to have attained this result.
